1. Progress Update
Housing Needs Survey – A draft report has been received from Midlands Rural Housing. We had a 38% return including 54 responses from households who consider themselves as having a local housing need. The Housing Needs Survey has a life of five years and the Parish Council have been advised to repeat the survey in 2024.
Site Allocations – We have now received the independent site assessments from Neil Pearce. We have some questions about the assessments and how they have been presented and will need to meet with Neil to go through them. One outcome of the site assessments is that the status of Ridgeway Furlong changed in July 2019 and is now described as ‘Priority Habitat Inventory - Deciduous Woodland (England)… This is a spatial dataset that describes the geographic extent and location of Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act (2006) Section 41 habitats of principal importance.’
Finance – A Change Request Form was completed to reassign remaining grant money to settle Neil’s invoice for the site assessments.
2. Next Steps
Site Allocations and Housing Needs Survey - When we meet with Neil we will also need to consider which sites are best suited to delivering the identified local need and to determine whether we will need an exception site for additional housing in five year’s time. This work will also determine the Built Up Area Boundary.
Post meeting note – a meeting has been arranged with Neil for Thursday 27th February.
Finance – Now that Neil’s invoice for the site assessments has been paid, Sue to to advise Groundwork that the final end of grant report can now be completed and any underspend returned.
An advance of £750 from next year’s precept allowance of £3,000 has been requested from the Parish Council to allow us to continue to work with Neil over the next couple of months.
3. Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 27th February at 7.30pm in the Youth Club.
