1. Progress Update
Site Assessments - The working group met with Neil Pearce on 19 February. Three issues were addressed:
1. What numbers should we use in our plan for development
2. Visit sites and review the outcome of our assessments
3. How to use the information when writing the Plan
During discussion with Neil we were able to identify the local need from our Household Survey. Other methods of identifying the local need are estimations based on past data, or meta data that does not represent the local need in any detail.
The output from the meeting was discussed with the Steering Group and agreement was reached on the built up area boundary which encases two development sites and one site reserved for the potential relocation of Bliss School. An exception site was also identified which sits outside the agreed built up area boundary.
Green Spaces Designation - After discussing the pros and cons of designating green space, the Steering Group took the decision that we would not designate any green space within the village as part of our Plan.
Finance - The grant period expires at the end of March. We will return £2,631.86 of unspent grant and then submit an application for further funding for the final part of the process.
2. Next Steps
Site Assessments – Sue to speak to our contact at SNC regarding BUAB, local list and rules on house mix if we opt for a community self build approach on one of the sites.
The village fete is on Saturday 8th June and, once again, the NP Group will have a presence. It will be an opportunity to remind people that they will have an opportunity to comment on the Plan during the consultation phase. Decisions on presentation theme and materials to be taken at the next meeting in April.
3. Next Meeting
The date of the next meeting is Thursday 28th March, at 7.30pm in the Youth Club.
