1. Progress Update
Site Assessments – Thanks to everyone who helped to make our site assessment event in November, such a success. We had over 100 people attending over the two sessions and followed up with a chance to vote by post until 16th December, which achieved another 30 votes.
Tony, Tom and Sue gave an overview of progress with writing up site assessments. More work has been done to ensure that scoring is fair across all sites and have included a RAG status for show-stoppers, ie. site within flood zone.
During discussions the Steering Group identified several areas where we need some guidance:
- House numbers and mix to meet local need
- How to use the results of site assessments in the Plan – preferred site, flexible approach, exception site.
Writing the Plan - The Steering Group considered views into and out of the village where photos can be taken and used in the Plan. Anyone taking photos please do so by the end of February and pass digitally to Tom.
Pat and Jeremy have been looking at heritage within the village. We have identified, via the internet, all listed buildings and sites and Pat has identified a number of additional valued assets in the Parish. This information has been passed to Tom for inclusion in the Plan. Sue to contact South Northants to see whether they also have a local list of heritage assets.
2. Next Steps
Site Assessments – A meeting has been arranged with Neil Pearce for Tuesday 19th February to revisit all the evidence and to identify the best approach to meet the requirements and aspirations of residents.
Once we have met with Neil, the Policies regarding housing numbers, mix and preferred sites can be written up in the Plan. Once this has been done, the Plan (as it is) can be submitted to South Northants to determine whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is
required. This is one of six basic conditions we must meet before our Plan can be submitted for examination.
Writing the Plan – We hope to have a draft Plan ready for submission to the Parish Council by the end of March. This is a tight timeframe but worth the effort.
3. Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting is on Thursday 28th February at 7.30pm in the Youth Club.
