Nether Heyford Neighbourhood Plan Questionnaire 2017

In the last edition of the Prattler, we said that building on the tremendous response that villagers gave on the Open Day, we would be able to circulate a questionnaire out to all homes before the Village Fête on the 10th June. By then, we hope you will have had chance to fill it in – it takes about 20 minutes or so. The questionnaire will help us to gather the preferences of everyone in the village when thinking about future developments and other important issues such as the environment, our history and the housing needs of younger and older people. So, if you came along to the Open Day, you’ll see that we used lots of your thoughts and ideas to structure the questionnaire. There were some comments from the Open Day that do not usually fall to neighbourhood plans to include or ‘sort out’ – these comments are being pulled together and will be fed back to those who can action them, such as the Parish Council and various clubs and groups in the village.

If everyone in the village fills in the questionnaire, it means that over 550 hours of thinking time goes into what we consider is best for the future of our village.  That’s so much better than decisions being made in a meeting room in a building remote from the village, by people who might not even live here. The completed questionnaires, which are confidential, can be posted off to our consultant in Stratford upon Avon, using the Freepost envelope in your pack which should be with you the first week of June. You can also bring completed questionnaires along to our tent at the fête – you shouldn’t be able to miss us! – where they can be collected and sent off on your behalf. Of course, there’s also the chance to win £100 for anyone who fills in the questionnaire in our prize draw (please see the pack that your questionnaire is in, when it's delivered).

We’ll have some feedback from the Open Day on display in our tent, along with lots of information about neighbourhood planning, and what it means for the future of the village. Come along and have a conversation with any of the Nether Heyford Neighbourhood Plan Group, you will be made very welcome. We will also have some extra questionnaires that people can fill in on the day.

Over summer the data from all of the questionnaires will be pulled together, analysed and presented back to us, leading us on to the next step of developing our neighbourhood plan – determining our policies. More about that next time!
