Nether Heyford Neighbourhood Plan

As I have not yet written an article for The Prattler about Nether Heyford’s Neigbourhood Plan, let me tell you a bit about myself.  I’ve lived in the village for 17 years, and joined the Parish Council in October 2015.  I had been retired for 18 months and was looking for a way to meet more people and involve myself in village life.  Early in 2016 I was fortunate enough to be given responsibility for the planning process and I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you in this capacity.

I was also tasked with bringing together a group of people who might be interested in creating a Neighbourhood Plan for the village and you have been kept up to date with progress, mostly by our Vice Chair Tom, since the Group’s inception in June last year.

Last month Tony Clewett, who is our Chairman, thanked you for the response we had to the Household Survey held during June, and I am happy to report that we are planning to publish results of the Survey as a pull out supplement in November’s issue of The Prattler.  The final number of surveys received was 323, representing 47% surveys delivered, a really fantastic result and very many thanks to everyone.

We are now entering a new phase in creation of the Plan, which is to gather information and evidence which, together with the output of the Survey, will help us create a Vision, Objectives and planning related Policies which will form the basis of the Plan.  We are hoping to be in a position to present these to you for your input and agreement in early Spring 2018.

In the meantime I would like to remind you that our Steering Group meetings are held in the public domain, on the last Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the Youth Club in Roberts Field, and you are welcome to attend.  Time is scheduled at the beginning of each meeting for any questions you may have.  Any change to published meetings will be communicated via the Parish Notice Board, The Prattler Facebook page and our website,

With your continued interest and input we will create a Plan which contributes to building the future we all want for Nether Heyford.
