Nether Heyford

Public consultation during the Fete on Saturday 11th June 2016

The occasion was before the initial meeting to kick off the neighbourhood plan.  It was designed to attract attention and to provide us with initial information.  Three questions were asked and the results are below:

What do you like about Nether Heyford?

It is lovely to visit and come to and to live in

Prattler (village monthly magazine)

Quiet, peaceful location.  


Shop open for long hours

The Green.

Atmosphere of the village.

The slides in the playground

All the clubs and societies that run in the village hall

Bakers (this closed a year ago)


Good neighbours – look out for each other

The community feeling

Having a shop, post office, pubs, butchers

Village atmosphere, community feeling, quiet streets in the evening

How friendly and welcoming it is

Lively village, lots going on

A nice friendly village and people

What would you change about Nether Heyford?

Car parking around green and Watery Lane

Some traffic calming on the access rounds in the Green

Some dog walking don’t pick up their dog’s poo

Improved road maintenance

Some parking can be a problem at times


More support for older people to remain in their own homes

More housing for single older people so they can move out of large family

     homes, but remain in the village

What additional facilities would you like to see in Nether Heyford?

I would like to work with people to keep the community feel

Another street light in Furnace Lane between Hillside Road and the Green

More shops, bakery and a doctors surgery

More parking areas around the Green

Doctor’s surgery, pharmacy


Doctor’s surgery, fish and chip shop

Improved grass cutting around the village

Sheltered accommodation

Sheds on the allotments
