Nether Heyford Neighbourhood Plan

Our Neighbourhood Plan

Why do we need one?

Nether Heyford will grow over the next 10-15 years.  A Neighbourhood Plan will give us the ability to influence where new homes are built and what they look like.  When completed the Plan becomes a legal part of the planning process within South Northants.

How is it created?

A Neighbourhood Plan is created by a community forum of volunteers on behalf of the Parish Council, with input from various agencies. The wider community is involved from start to finish via public meetings, workshops and surveys. It is vital to the success of a Neighbourhood Plan that it involves the views of as many people as possible during its formation.

What’s included?

The Plan will include a vision and objectives for Nether Heyford for the next 10-15 years. It will look at a variety of aspects of the village, such as its history, its green spaces and leisure facilities, what needs to be protected and what would benefit from change. It will consider options for development and provide evidence for the preferred way forward. It can also include how to use any money coming into the village as a result of development – so an opportunity to think about what we might need or want.

What can I do?

The views of any many people as possible will be sought during the process, which is likely to take about two years to complete. You will be invited to take part in public meetings and surveys to give us the widest scope of views and suggestions.

We are at the very beginning of an exciting journey.  We will use The Prattler and a dedicated web site to keep you informed throughout.
